Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)
When Pastor Don Randall received the call to come up to the Navajo Nation to minister, he knew that in the natural realm there was a possibility he could face death. However, that did not stop him from obeying the Lord. Pastor trusted that the Lord was capable of sustaining him and healing his physical condition. On December 17th he received the ultimate healing and went home to be with the Lord. A funeral service was held in the school building at Smith Lake on December 23rd, and Pastor Don was buried in a cemetery directly across the road from the school building.
Although the Lord called Pastor home the labor of the harvest continues: John 4:35b “…Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” There is still tremendous need among the Navajo people, and the vision that the Lord gave Pastor for the ministry is still unfolding. The ministry has had to divert a significant portion of its financial resources, though, to cover funeral expenses. The sale of the El Paso property and the faithful monthly support from you, our partners, is all that the ministry receives to meet physical needs and reach out to the Navajo community. Thank you to all who have contributed to offset some of these expenses so the ministry can keep going!
Tom and Lisa Goss came to help minister and work on a number of computer and phone issues. Tom has been wiring and setting up the computer network for the office and radio station. Lisa has been helping with the website, radio, and other office tasks.
We will continue to pursue our mission here at Smith Lake, trusting the Lord’s leading as we walk through this transition. We know that the Lord does all things well and works all things together for good to them that love Him and are called according to His purposes. We have our eyes set on the goal of reaching the lost, guiding the wandering, healing the wounded and equipping the saints, because we know that the time is short and the night draws near.
We covet your prayers and support for we wrestle not with flesh and blood for the souls of those we live among, but with powers and principalities in heavenly places.
